This year holds a great deal of advancement for the group. We have been running a number of workshops aimed at:

  • promoting wellbeing and self-management

Sessions held so far include:

Managing Emotions - 15th March 2012 6:30pm - 8:30pm

A specialist information session around dealing with the emotional effects of having a long term condition. Participants are able to identify common emotional responses to dealing with pain and explore different ways of coping with their emotions.

Skills Assessment and Confidence Building Workshop - 11th April 2012 6:30pm-8:30pm

GGT Solutions - Specialists in information, advice, guidance and training In this session you will:
  • This session helped participants to be able to identify what skills and resources they already have and how to use them to reach new or existing goals.

Health and Disability in the Workplace - 19th April 2012 6.30pm – 8.30pm

Speaker: Anderson Consultancy – Specialist in Equalities and Diversity Training

  • Participants were informed about health and disability issues relating to finding and maintaining employment
  • Explored their rights and correct procedures for tackling discriminatory practices
  • Identify resolutions through the use of practical examples

Creating a Winning CV workshop is aimed at revealing what  employers are looking  for and how the recruitment industry operates. The workshop will show you:

The Job Search Success Workshop - Thursday 13th September 2012 @ 6.30 pm

This workshop will help you navigate the career maze through the use of the very latest job search techniques, creative brainstorming tools, and a customised action plan. This  process can help you determine career direction, further academic concentration, target industries and companies, and more.

The workshop programme will cover the following areas:

WSCTSG Invites all people with Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia, carers and families to:

  • Meet with health professionals from St George’s Haematology Team and Wandsworth Primary Care Trust
  • Take part in the discussions about what is happening to improve your experience of Sickle Cell services in Wandsworth.
